Your Top Ten?
March 15th, 2003
I was looking at the newspaper on Thursday and I noticed that Bartley
Kives had listed his pickings for the top 10 Buffy episodes, which were
coincidently, really close to mine. Which is why I found it so
interesting.
Check it out.
Never Leave Me December 6th, 2002
Okay, first, she heard the evil thing through the door, what was up with
that? She couldn't even hear it when it was in the same room as her, but,
she hears it through the door? And second, that building that blew up;
editing error? Was it supposed to be the Watcher's Council building? Cause
it looked similar, but, really, nothing like it.
Help October 16th, 2002
Dude, that girl was so awesome, why'd she have to die? She was like the
essence of 'cool'. I loved her: I loved her hair, I loved her shirt, I loved
the way she could see the future, I even loved her okayness with the whole
death issue. Damn you Joss..
Lessons September 24th, 2002
Well done Mr. Whedon, well done. Lessons was awesome. I would totally
watch it again.. if I had it on tape.
It opened with a classic teaser; girl (in Istanbul) being chased by..
something(s), (which I had actually forgotten about until now). There is
nothing wrong with a classic teaser to start the (last?) year, but, I was
hoping for something a little more.. original. Whatever, Joss has the power.
No, wait, that's the vampire, eh?
Then there was Willow and Giles somewhere in England. Giles has shown
Willow to a wicca group that has strong link with nature, she is, of course,
fully healed and in control of her witchyness. Was there ever any doubt?
Tara is with someone singing in a cafe which is also where Halfrek and
Anya are. Halfrek, is lecturing Anya on how she's not vengeful enough
anymore. Amber's got an awesome voice.
They have rebuilt Sunnydale High and coincidently that's exactly where
Dawn's going to school now (wow). Buffy drops Dawn off at school and wanders
around for a bit and finds evil. Dawn also finds the evil and in it's
evilness it.. does evil stuff. Spike's there and there's this whole evil
entity. Watch it yourself.
Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike!
Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil
Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! Evil Spike! --Routing for an
evil Spike.

Once More, With.. [what happened to the rest of the title..?]
July 4th
I was watching a "Once More, With Feeling" rerun on one of my
local stations. They totally butchered it. They cut out the whole "Sweet's Lair"
routine with Dawn and the demons dancing around and even little dialog snippets.
I feel sorry for anyone who watching that for the first time. The amazing thing
though, was, even with all they cut out they were definitely not finished early.
Damn commercials. I'm disappointed.
Also, yesterday they showed "When She Was Bad" on Space and if
you notice at the end when she's smashing the master's bones; she smashes his
skull and works her way down then they cut to her smashing his skull (on another
angle of course), bad continuity, bad, bad, continuity. now go to your room.
My AussieBullDog Dialog Derby June 15, 2002
Okay, so this isn't really a rambling, more like some little thing I did
on the
Beta a while back (where you're given 10 lines from a Buffy episode
and you have to think of dialog to add to those lines) that I found
laying around my computer. So here it is, my ABDD;
AussieBullDog's Dialogue Derby
Today's episode: Becoming - Part 2
1. Snyder: "Buffy Summers. If there's trouble, she's behind it."
Buffy coming up from behind Snyder, "What was that?"
2. Angelus: "I wasn't sure you were gonna wake up."
We have zoomed in to see Angelus hunched over a wounded squirrel which
appears to be almost dead and has just opened his eyes for a last look
at the world. All of a sudden FLASHBACK: we are on an old cobblestone
street, the squirrel turns into an old scruffy dog and Angelus into
little Liam. The dog closes it's eyes again, it's quite obvious to see,
it's dead. Liam starts crying. We zoom out to see his mother standing in
the background and we UN-FLASHBACK: Liam's mother turns into Spike and
we can still see tears running down Angelus' face.
Spike: "It's dead mate. Get over it."
3. Buffy: "Let me clear this up for you. We're mortal enemies."
Spike: "Oh I know love, why do you think I brought bug spray?"
Buffy: "Okay. That just made no sense."
Xander nudges Buffy awake.
Mrs. Whitmore: "Well, would you like me to go over the reproduction
cycle with you again after class?"
4. Spike (with an insanely evil grin on his face): "I want to save
the world."
We see Spike pulling the sword out of Acathla.
Buffy: "And that would be after you send it to hell..?"
5. Joyce: "It's because you didn't have a strong father figure, isn't
it?"
Buffy: "No mom, it's because you wouldn't let me drink chocolate milk as
a kid."
6. Giles: "You must perform the ritual ... in a tutu."
Angelus opens a closet filled with tutu's.
Angelus: "What colour?"
7. Drusilla: "Sorry. I was in the moment."
Spike emerges naked from underneath her. Only god knows what they're
doing.
Spike: "Dru what'd I tell you? Keep moving."
8. Xander: "Now, that's a new look for you."
Giles' standing there touching his 'fro to make sure it's all in place.
Giles: "I know it's new. I asked you what do you think?"
9. Giles: "They get inside my head, make me see things I want."
Psychiatrist: "And you're sure this is the dancing purple muskrats in
top hats, not the acid..?"
10. Cordelia: "Well, she's gotta show up sooner or later. We still
have school."
Everyone looks at Cordelia silenty.
Cordelia: "What? Is it my hair? There's something wrong with my hair.."
Xander: "No Cordelia, it's summer vacation."
Cordelia: "Oh.."
End of show.
I'm Impressed
April 30th, 2002
They said the last five would be good, would tie
everything together and after seeing Entropy, I have faith that the next
four will be that. I couldn't believe it; Entropy must of been the best
episode so far (besides OMWF) of the season. Kudos to Greenberg who has
brought his Queer As Folk expertise to the end of the ep. (although I do
believe that the Willow and Tara scene looked a little forced).
Whatever, they're back together, let's be happy. I wasn't expecting
much and if the show had kept the feeling that I had for it (up to about
mid season 4) alive I may have actually been a little depressed. I must
say I am impressed. And the trailer "Everything you heard was wrong",
for some reason I strongly disagree with that, but, if it's true,
anything could happen, now. Brace yourselves. Or don't, whatever. |
